Daughter of William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army, she led the organization from 1934 until her death. Lot of two vintage photos. One 4.75 x 6 newspaper photo, signed in fountain pen and a very nice vintage 4 x 5.5 portrait photo, also signed in fountain pen and affixed to a slightly larger card. Accompanied by a January 16, 1905, TLS from Booth’s private secretary, acknowledging the newspaper photo and adding, “As this is such a very poor print, she also desires me to send you a photograph of herself.” In fine condition, with expected folds and some light toning to letter.
