Fun-filled and fascinating lot of approximately 70 signed letters, notes, and cards sent by various celebrities to comedienne Phyllis Diller, various sizes and formats, 1970s–1990s. The items include greetings, get-well notes, thank-yous, fund-raising solicitations, and the like; as might be expected, many contain humorous content (Woody Allen, for example, pens a joke involving Stevie Wonder and an English muffin). A number are quite lengthy and include comments and information of a personal, even intimate nature. Among the correspondents: Steve Allen, Maya Angelou, Gene Autry, Erma Bombeck, Pierce Brosnan, Naomi Campbell, Julia Child, Sean Connery, Mike Douglas, Michael Eisner, Malcolm Forbes, Eva Gabor, Lillian Gish, Barry Goldwater, Hugh Hefner, Diane Keaton (“I will always be your slave”), Dorothy Lamour, Martin Landau, Peggy Lee, David Letterman, Jerry Lewis, Shari Lewis, Camryn Manheim, Reba McEntire, Burgess Meredith, Ann Miller, Liza Minnelli, Anthony Newley, Leonard Nimoy (and wife), Jack Paar, Roseanne, Sidney Sheldon, Robert Stack, Sharon Stone, Gloria Swanson, Margaret Trudeau, Abigail Van Buren (a.k.a.
