Original vintage 7 x 5 photo of the 1927 Titanic memorial service held on board the Coast Guard vessel U. S. S. Modoc at the location where the Titanic went down. Service is being conducted by Lt. Edward S. Moale. Crew can be seen in formation behind Moale and the flag is at half-mast. Each year, the Coast Guard lays a wreath at the site in the North Atlantic. Photo is accompanied by one of Moale’s calling cards, signed and inscribed in ink “With best wishes to my very good friend: Cannon Davidson, Eddie Moale.” Scattered silvering to photo and mild toning to card, otherwise fine condition.
