TLS signed “Charles M. Schulz,” one page, 8.5 x 11, personal fluorescent yellow/green letterhead with Snoopy at the typewriter atop his roof, April 11, 1975. Letter to fellow cartoonist Emil V. Abrahamian, cartoonist, artist and political activist. Abrahamian published a bi-weekly comic feature in Saudi Arabia's largest English language newspaper, The Arab News. This feature contained two comic strips and four panel cartoons: Stumpy Stumbler, The Spacers, Space Shots, Impressions, Animal Chatter and The Sports File. Later on, he developed the panel cartoon Endangered Animals and Their Environment. His work has also been published in the Middle East and The United Kingdom. In part: “Probably the biggest drawback to your cartoons is the fact that most of your ideas are too obvious. You seem to take the surface idea rather than digging deeper the way you should. You also seem to have difficulty drawing characters that have any humor in their expressions. They seem overly cute, and I think your system of leaving the noses off on the three-quarter rear views is a bad one, especially when you place the ear in the position that it would be seen from the side. I simply do not have the time to criticize the work of all the people who send me cartoons, but I hope this will help you some.” The letter is accompanied by an original one panel Impression strip, 7.75 x 9, signed by Abrahamian, depicting a child (noseless) seated at a desk and writing a letter which reads “Dear Mr. President, Please reduce the national debt and lower taxes so daddy can raise my allowance.” In fine condition, wtih scattered creasing to the letter, largely in the borders and corners.
