DeQuincey promises to get it together, “by means of a new and angelic method which commence this day, no such accumulation shall take place.”

English writer, colleague of Wordsworth and Coleridge, best known for his Confessions of an English Opium-Eater. ALS, three pages on two adjoining sheets, 3.75 x 5, no date. Apologetic letter for a delay. In part, “From the confusion of my room, and the malarrangements I have hitherto made for the purpose of applying some remedy to this confusion, find this morning that, partly from absence in Edinb. yesterday, have fallen into arrear of 4 papers, all of which however shall this day go off to Tipperary; and henceforward, by means of a new and angelic method which commence this day, no such accumulation shall take place.” In very good condition, with expected folds, scattered creases and wrinkles, tape reinforcement to spine and some light toning.
