“Would you be so kind as to send me either a photostat or the original contract of Charles Martin production ‘Death Of A Scoundrel’ which was contracted by Abe Meyer, I believe, in 1956.”

One of Hollywood’s most prolific composers, he scored Gone With the Wind, King Kong, Dark Victory, and others. TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, April 20, 1961. Letter to the contract department of MCA. In part, “Would you be so kind as to send me either a photostat or the original contract of Charles Martin production ‘Death Of A Scoundrel’ which was contracted by Abe Meyer, I believe, in 1956.” In very good condition, with staple holes to top edge and several areas of toning from old tape on reverse, one over portion of signature.
