Lady Diana Frances Spencer was 20 when she married Prince Charles, future king of England, in July of 1991. Her youth and attractiveness made her a favorite of the public and the paparazzi. Her personal life was an ever-available supply for the tabloids. Diana and Charles had two sons, and the marriage ended in divorce in 1996. She devoted her life to her sons and worldwide charities. She and her boyfriend, Dodi Fayed, were killed in a car crash in Paris in 1997. Christmas card, folded to 8 x 6, with two gold-embossed royal seals on the outside cover, a pre-printed Christmas/New Years greeting at inside left, a color satin-finish 5.5 x 4 portrait of Diana, Charles and their two young sons on the inside at right, and Diana’s bold handwritten note at inside left which reads, in full: “Joanna & Ed, Lots of love from us all, Diana.” In very fine condition, with a small area of discoloration, perhaps a fingerprint, on the outside and a tiny smudge to the first stroke of the signature.
