She began her career as a secretary, working for Von Sternberg and Chaplin. She was often miscast as a singer-dancer. She toured in vaudeville after her career’s downturn and returned to Hollywood where she became involved in a sex scandal in 1933 with her boyfriend, actor Jack Warburton and her future husband, Sidney Bartlett. She continued to work on the stage and screen for the next two decades, but a series of divorces, more sex scandals, and an accident in 1957 put an end to her career.
