ALS signed “W. F. Cody,” one page, 8.5 x 11, Buffalo Bill’s Wild West letterhead, June 25, 1907. Letter to Joseph McCadden, outlining reasons for the slow down of his Wild West show. Cody was under heavy financial obligation to McCadden. In part, “The hot weather hurt our Boston week. But not as much as the big attractions and the closing of all school. Harvard exercises daily big baseball games and the opening of all summer parks. Providence done fine but this town is very quiet the money people are not here yet…Besides its an awful bad night so foggy & misty we can’t see across the arena…Mrs. Vanderbilt and friends were to ride in the coach tonight but the weather is too bad.” Accompanied by a copy of McCadden’s response to Cody, “I regret to see the decrease in business this week, and cannot understand it, especially Newport, as we were the first show there and at the right season of the year.” In fine condition, with two punch holes to top, expected folds, a few light creases and some light toning.
