Clark, Colombo, 25 January 1988.” The notes discuss parallels and differences between his book and Kubrick’s movie 2001: A Space Odyssey. Clarke also discusses the 1969 moon landing, the Apollo 13 mission, Voyager I, etc. He closes with “Inevitably…the story you are about to read is something more complex than a straightforward sequel to the earlier novel…which, of course, will once more be out of date by 2001…” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. In fine condition, with a paper clip impression to the top border, a couple of small spots of trivial soiling. R&R COA.
