Roosevelt updates the Surgeon General on his wife’s condition: “Mrs. Roosevelt...has now practically recovered, although she is not yet able to leave the place, and I am still a little afraid of having her see people.”

TLS, one page, 7.5 x 9, The Outlook letterhead, November 17, 1911. Roosevelt writes to Surgeon General C. F. Stokes. In part, “Mrs. Roosevelt…has now practically recovered, although she is not yet able to leave the place, and I am still a little afraid of having her see people. But when Dr. Grayson came out the other day to see Ethel she saw him and enjoyed seeing him.” Matted and framed with a small portrait of Roosevelt, to an overall size of 16 x 13. In fine condition, with expected folds, light mirroring of letterhead to bottom of page and two small corrections in Roosevelt’s hand. R&R COA.
