A pass to Barnum’s American Museum, 3.25 x 2, reads "Admit Until July 1st, 1864 Except on Benefit or Holidays." The pass has been filled with the name of the bearer, plus the notation ""including my box" in Barnum's hand. The pass is also stamped with the circular “P.T. Barnum, Dec. 3.” The lengthy printed caveat on the reverse reads, in part: “The loan or transfer of this Ticket will positively be considered equivalent to its forfeiture and surrender, and the door-keeper will detain it if offered by any other person or persons.” In very good condition, with expected age and handling wear, a rusted paper clip impression to the right border, a vertical fold at center.
