Impressionist painter. ALS in French, one page, 4.25 x 6, May 26, 1889. Acknowledgement of one hundred francs for the Manet subscription. Interesting to note that the amount “cent” was filled in in a slightly different ink. This was likely a pre-written and signed letter with the appropriate monetary amount filled in when used, making this an early version of a form letter. Quadruple matted and framed with a portrait of Monet seated on a bench, to an overall size of 22 x 17. In fine condition, with horizontal fold and a touch of light toning.
