ALS, one page, 4.5 x 5.25, February 15, 1861. Letter of invitation to a friend. In full, “Will you come and dine here next Sunday week - there’s a good long notice for you - with no company at 6 sharp.” Letter is accompanied by a very nice original sepia 2.5 x 4 carte-de-visite by Mason and Co., showing a seated Dickens reading at a table, signed along the lower border, “Charles Dickens.” Both items are very nicley triple cloth matted and framed to an overall size of 20 x 15.75. In fine condition, with light mailing folds to letter and a few trivial spots to CDV, not affecting signature or overall image. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
