TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, March 4, 1975. Letter to an admirer. In part, 'I have started to tell the story of the frontier in America, and in Sackett's Land I have gone back to the beginning of the Sackett family history to tell of the first one to come to America; in rivers West, soon to be out in hard covers I go back to 1821 with the Telon family, who first appeared in Ride The Dark Trail...Too few people realized what happened here...In my stories, which reach a great many people in all walks of life, I hope to rectify that gap...and tell some good stories in the process.' Matted with a colorful western print, to an overall size of 22 x 14. In fine condition, with light mark to top edge and expected folds, one through end of signature. RRAuction COA.
