In full, 'Be pleased to pay to Joseph Dougherty or order twenty one dollars forty two and one half cents for value rec'd on account of Sir.' Nicely signed at the conclusion by Jefferson and signed at the bottom by Dougherty. In fine condition, with light toning and chipping to the right edge, small tape reinforcement on reverse under signature and light show through from endorsement on reverse.
