In full: 'I presume you have rec'd the 5 I paid for those books by this time. Please send me to Buffalo New York without delay 200 books C.O.D. 10 (which is all I have now). Times are hard and I do the best I can. Will notify you shortly where to send the balance C.O.D. Send 200 which is 5 per hundred, as I can't afford to pay so much for express charges. A small hole in the center of the page and minor tearing to one of the folds does not affect the boldly penned signature.
