Studebaker writes to the Manager of the Farragut House requesting certain accomodations for their upcoming visit. In part, 'We were rather dissatisfied with the rooms on the first floor, as they are so noisy and there is no privacy whatsoever...We would expect you to take the carpets up, add some new furniture and fix the rooms in first class shape, so that we could be comfortable.'
