ALS in German, signed 'Rudi Hess,' one page, 3.75 x 5.5, December 31, 1914. Letter, to a lady, written from the front during World War I. In part, 'I give heartfelt thanks for your long letter...Now that I have more time and things are getting quieter you can hear me. The French make a truce for Christmas though there have been attempted violations and things have not been entirely calm. I send you New year's greetings. May 1915 bring England its entire and just deserts!. Reverse is addressed in Hess' hand. In fine condition, with a few light spots, light surface wear to right edge, resulting in a few light letters.
