Description

Henry Flagler was called 'the builder of the east coast Florida.' He set out to make Florida the 'Newport of the South' by making it easier to get to - via rail - and building grand hotels to lure wealthy vacationers. TLS signed 'H. M. Flagler,' one page, 8.5 x 11, Hotel Alcazar letterhead, December 28, 1905. Letter to his Vice President in charge of railroads. In full, 'For your information, I enclose letter received today from Wm. M. Ford, Manager The Ostrich Farm, St. Augustine, together with a copy of my reply.' The letter is enclosed and refers to his railroad interests. In very good condition, with scattered toning and soiling, several rusty paperclip marks, light edge wear and signature just a bit light.
