ALS signed 'J. R. Lowell,' one page both sides, 4.5 x 7, November 19, 1883. Letter to Mr. Wright, regarding fourteen letters of the late Mr. Fitzgerald which he has promised to send. In part, 'the beginning of the letter dated April 17/78 gave me a pang. I feel, since the rest begin as usual 'Dear Sir' that I overlooked in my answer this friendly offer of the hand which I should have been eager to meet in the same spirit.' Letter is affixed by its second integral page to a 10 x 14 folder. Accompanied by an AQS on an off-white 6.5 x 8 album page. In full, 'They are stars, who dare not be, In the night with two or three.' Signed 'J. R. Lowell, 10th Jan, 1891.'
