TLS in German, signed 'A. Einstein,' one page both sides, 8 x 10.5, July 25, 1942. Letter to Mrs. S. Feuchtwanger, saying that he is willing to try to help the M. Einstein family come to the U. S. In full, 'To date, I have not been able to accomplish anything in the very deplorable matter concerning the M. Einstein family because I could not find a way to offer my help. I do admit, than in a case of such desperation, not even the slightest possibility of hope should be overlooked. I am at present at an extremely isolated place and only with the following conditions fulfilled could I apply for an affidavit: 1. That you explain to me how I am related to these persons, so that I can list them correctly in the affidavit. 2. That you send the legal affidavit forms which I cannot get here. 3. That you find another person willing to give an affidavit, as required, a person who in the eyes of authorities offers sufficient guaranties and which is not encumbered, as I am, with a great number of already submitted affidavits.' In fine condition. COA John Reznikoff/University Archives and RRAuction COA.
