Yuri Gagarin's personally owned and used vinyl briefcase. Case is from Gagarin's service as deputy to the Supreme Soviet, his brief stint in the Parliament. Briefcase measures 14.5 x 10 closed and opens to 14.5 x 20. One side of the case is embossed, in Russian, reading 'To the Delegate of the 23rd Session of the Communist Party of The U. S. S. R.' Gagarin has signed and inscribed the inside in blue ballpoint, again in Russian, reading 'To Nikolai Nikolayevich Rodionev, in memory of our position in the 23rd session of the C. P. S. U.
