Description

Character actor who played Colin Clive’s assistant Fritz in Frankenstein and the lunatic Renfield opposite Béla Lugosi in Dracula. Extremely rare ALS signed “Dwight,” two pages, 7.25 x 10.25. In this chatty letter to ”Mizzie,” Frye writes: “Well, we’ve been waiting this morning for the chair to be delivered but it’s time for Laura to leave and it hasn’t come yet. But guess we have to be glad whenever they get around to bringing it. We are so happy about the desk we hope we feel the same about the chair. It will make quite a difference. We feel fine about selling the refrig. Especially since it has given us both the desk and the chair. Also it would keep depreciating without use. Just got a letter from Mom and she is going to visit her daughter-in-law in Seattle so she wont be down here for two weeks yet. I have already ordered our turkey and we’ll have our Thanksgiving the Sunday after. Got a note from Uncle Louis and they are putting in their garden. Seemed to have had a good time here. Haven’t been out yet to have my wig tried on yet but expect a call any day now. Got your letter. Am working hard at the plant and yesterday started another course at U. C. L. A. but don’t know whether I’ll feel able to continue it—it takes three hours on Thursday. We shall see. Buddy is re-painting some of the things in his room. It will be very nice. I don’t think I have any more news right now but will probably write again on Sunday. I know you must be busy with the yard but you’ll be thru with canning and certainly that was a hard job well done and we’ll be grateful all winter. Love from us all. Dwight.” In very fine condition. One of the rarest and most desirable horror film autographs, virtually nonexistent in any form.
