Description


Sepia-tone 7.5 x 5.75 albumen print of a group of men posing with ‘The Lincoln Special,’ the funeral train of President Abraham Lincoln, whose portrait is fastened to the flag-draped front of the engine above the cattle guard. The photo is affixed to the original 12 x 10 mount from the H. H. Reeves Studio of Newburgh, Ohio, with lower caption reading: “The Engine Which Drew The Body Of President Lincoln From Washington To Cleveland.” In very good to fine condition, with light toning, soiling, and staining to the wide mount.
