Description

Uncommon 2.25″ celluloid pin from 1956 promoting JFK as a vice presidential candidate, featuring a youthful portrait with text referencing his Pulitzer Prize-winning book "A Profile in Courage," and pitching his candidacy, "Elect U.S. Senator John F. Kennedy Vice President." The bottom edge of the pin notes the producer, "Winthrop Transcript, A. P. Quigley, Publisher." In fine condition, with minor rust spots to the back. Kennedy was the runner-up in the vice presidential balloting at the 1956 Democratic National Convention, coming in second to Senator Estes Kefauver who joined Adlai Stevenson on the Democratic Party's ticket.
