Attractive leather-bound 'Floral Album' autograph book, 7.5 x 4.75, signed inside on separate pages in black ink, "Henry W. Longfellow, Dec'r 31, 1881" and "John G. Whittier, 8 Mo. 23, 1883." The balance of the book includes a handful of notable New England artists, writers, and thinkers, such as: Charlotte Fiske Bates, a writer and editor who helped Longfellow compile his Poems of Places, and Impressionist painter Milton Herbert Bancroft, who adds a small landscape sketch.
