John Wayne's screen-worn vest from his role as Tom Craig in the 1942 gold rush Western film In Old California. The cream-colored vest features four golden buttons down the front, and has a Western Costume Co. tag sewn in the back, annotated in ink: "No. 1, Name: John Wayne, Chest 46 1/2." The vest was later shortened at the bottom, presumably so that it could be worn by a smaller actor. While Wayne is not seen wearing a four-button vest in the film, he is seen in a pre-shortened vest in this style, and the label matches those from In Old California. In very good condition, with fraying and repairs at shoulders.
