Turkish-American businessman, songwriter and philanthropist (1923-2006) who is best known as the co-founder and president of Atlantic Records, and for discovering and championing many leading rhythm and blues and rock musicians. Morris is the current chairman and former CEO of Sony Music Entertainment, who in the past also served as chairman and CEO of the Universal Music Group. Morris became president of Atlantic Records in 1980, and became co-chairman and co-CEO of the Atlantic Recording Group, alongside Ahmet Ertegun, in 1990.
