Paris Match, a weekly French magazine, published several Kennedy cover stories both before and after his death. Kennedy enjoyed smoking cigars—he famously ordered over one thousand Cubans before signing the 1962 trade embargo—but did not like to be photographed while doing so, making this an especially scarce image from one of these private moments.
