Manuscript DS, signed “George R,” one page both sides, 8 x 12.5, June 10, 1809. Warrant issued to affix “our Great Seal of Great Britain to be affixed to an instrument…appointing our trusty and beloved Bartholomew Freres Esquire to be our Secretary to Our Extraordinary Embassy to the Court of Our Good Brother the Catholick King.” Bound to the document with its original ribbon is a three-page copy of the order in Latin. In fine condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, and some scattered light toning and soiling. The paper seal is crisp and intact.
