Description
Rare official color 8 x 10 NASA lithograph of Bassett in a suit and tie, neatly signed and inscribed in black felt tip, "To Michael Chenault, With Best Wishes, Charlie Bassett.” In very fine condition, with three trivial binder dings to the right edge. Bassett was elected as a NASA astronaut in 1963 and assigned to the crew of Gemini 9 with Elliot See; Bassett and See were killed on February 28, 1966, when their T-38 trainer jet crashed into McDonnell Aircraft Building 101.
