Description
John Smith Hurt (1892-1966) was an American country blues singer and guitarist who worked for years as a sharecropper before his rediscovery and recording by the Library of Congress in 1964, sessions which helped further the American folk music revival. Vintage ballpoint signature, "'Mississippi' John Hurt," on an off-white 5 x 3.25 album page. Removably corner-mounted to a display sheet with an image of Hurt playing a guitar. In fine condition, with light uniform toning over most of the sheet.
