Desirable NWA 11342 stone diogenite meteorite slice, recovered in Northwest Africa. The full slice weighs 19.7 grams and measures approximately 76 mm x 43 mm x 2 mm. While the vast majority of meteorites are magnetic, diogenites are a rare exception. Achondritic (without chondrules) stony meteorites, diogenites are light in weight, contain little or no iron and are believed to have originated within the the large asteroid Vesta. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Geoff Notkin of Aerolite Meteorites Inc. and the TV show Meteorite Men, as well as a specimen identification card.
