Description


Impressive collection of 43 vintage signatures from various celebrities of the 1930s and 1940s, each signed in ink or pencil on clipped album pages, ranging in size from 2.5 x .75 to 5 x 4, with the majority bearing an affixed image of the signer, including: William Frawley, Jack Dempsey, Susan Hayward, Gypsy Rose Lee, Conrad Nagel, Sonja Henie, Jackie Coogan, Charles Laughton, Al Jolson, Helen Hayes, Raymond Massey, Edward Everett Horton, Walter Huston, Bob Hope, Tom Mix, Jimmy Durante, Collette Lyons, Ted Lewis, Maureen O’Sullivan, Tallulah Bankhead, Ann Miller, Eddie Rickenbacker, Joe E. Brown, Irving Berlin, Dorothy Lamour, Ralph Forbes, Fred and Carol Stone, C. Aubrey Smith, Jimmie Dykes, Victor Moore, Kitty Carlisle, Mary Brian, Vera Zorina, Clyde Beatty, Bruno Walter, Constance Bennett, Sophie Tucker, Annabella, Estelle Taylor, Paul Muni, Grace Moore, and Charlie Ruggles. All but 15 of the album pages are individually encapsulated in plastic PSA/DNA authentication holders. In overall fine condition, with scattered creasing, soiling, and toning. Consignor notes that the signatures were obtained at Detroit, Michigan’s Cadillac Hotel throughout the 1930s and 1940s. An exceptional array of some of the golden era’s most influential stars.
