Lunar receiving laboratory stainless steel containment vessel, approximately 2.75 x 3, designed to hold moon rocks upon their return to earth. This two-piece vessel has three bolts to hold attach the top and bottom, and the number “1035” is etched onto the rim of the larger part. A heavy-duty vessel such as this would have been used to store lunar samples under vacuum within the Lunar Receiving Laboratory. In fine condition. RR Auction COA.
