Rare signed book: An American Prayer. Privately published, 1970. Hardcover, 4 x 4.75, 40 pages. Signed and inscribed on the title page in brown felt tip, “For Doug Washington, J. Morrison.” Autographic condition: very fine. Book condition: VG+/None. Maroon heavy cardstock covers with gilt lettering to front; minor wear to edges, with a light bump to front and rear lower edges; minimal soiling to exterior. Morrison took poetry quite seriously, publishing a few small volumes of verse during his lifetime and often improvising poetic passages on stage. With a limited printing of somewhere between 100 and 500 copies, this is a rarely found and extremely desirable book. Pre-certified Roger Epperson/REAL and RR Auction COA.
