Description
Handwritten working lyrics to ‘Christmas With You,’ titled at the time of these lyrics ‘Christmas Here With You.’ Written as a duet to be sung by himself and June Carter, the lyrics read, in part, "The times that I've seen Christmas / Come and go now are two score / I wish you Merry Christmas / And I wish you many more / It's good to see the children laugh / With joy the way they do / And it's nice to spend Christmas here with you." Along the left edge, Cash designates who is to sing each verse, writing “John,” six times, “June” once, and “Both,” three times. In fine condition, with intersecting folds. This song would appear on The Johnny Cash Family Christmas album released in 1972. Lyrics for Cash’s duets with June are rather uncommon. Pre-certified Roger Epperson/REAL and RR Auction COA.
