Description


Small piece of flight-flown microfilm picturing the front page of the Christian Science Monitor newspaper that traveled aboard Apollo 14 on its lunar voyage. The film is encased within a small globe set upon a black base, total height 4-inches. A small label on the bottom of the base reads in full: “This microfilm of the front page of The Christian Science Monitor’s first edition dated November 25, 1908, was taken to the moon on February 5, 1971, aboard Apollo 14. This is one of 100 carried by Captain Alan B. Shepard, commander of the mission.” RRAuction COA.
