#88 - Jimmy Carter Estimate: $200+

Attractive pair of matching gold-tone cufflinks presented to White House staffers by President Jimmy Carter following his unsuccessful reelection bid in 1980. The cufflinks, each .75″ in diameter, feature the Presidential Seal in relief on the front, with the reverse bearing a raised facsimile signature of Jimmy Carter. Includes the original presentation box. In very fine condition. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the original recipient: "I was White House Staff for President Jimmy Carter from early 1977 to January 1981. Late in 1980, after President Carter lost his reelection bid, his Administration released three unique Presidential gift items—goldtone cufflinks for men, a matching goldtone lapel pin for women, and a unique White House gift print. I was given these goldtone cufflinks at the conclusion of President Carter's term in office. They are in their original box and have never been worn."
