#547 - Ken Anderson concept painting from The Rescuers Estimate: $500+

(Walt Disney Studios, 1977) Original concept painting for The Rescuers by Disney art director Ken Anderson, showing a river boat on fire in Devil's Bayou, Louisiana. Accomplished in gouache on 8 x 5.5 artist's board. Matted and framed to an overall size of 13 x 11. In fine condition.

Ken Anderson (1909-1993) served as an art director and writer at Walt Disney Studios for over 40 years, playing key roles in the creation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, 101 Dalmatians, and The Jungle Book. One of his last films, The Rescuers, began its development in 1962 and was finally released in 1977.
