#2011 - Beatles Signed Snapshot Photographs Estimate: $15,000+

One-of-a-kind signed snapshot set
Remarkable collection of four signed vintage candid snapshots: a matte-finish 4.75 x 3.75 close-up photo of John Lennon wearing his distinctive circular eyeglasses, signed in black ballpoint; a glossy 3.5 x 3.5 photo of Paul McCartney walking down the street, signed in blue ballpoint, with a collector's notation on the reverse, "(1967) May 7th - Saville"; a color glossy 3.5 x 3.5 candid of the Beatles performing in a baseball stadium in 1966, signed on the reverse in blue ballpoint, "George Harrison, xx"; and a glossy 4 x 3 photo of Paul and Ringo outside Starr's Montagu Square flat, signed in blue ballpoint, "Ringo Starr," with collector's notation on the reverse, "Paul & Ringo, 26th Oct 1965, M.B.E. Day." In overall very good to fine condition, with some creasing and staining to the Lennon photo, and some creasing to the Harrison photo (most apparent on the front). Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from noted Beatles expert Frank Caiazzo for all four signed photos, as well as certificates of authenticity from Tracks for the Lennon and Starr autographs. Also includes a reproduction of the front of the Harrison photograph.

While the Lennon and McCartney signed candids are rare and exceptionally desirable on their own, the Harrison and Starr pieces represent major moments in Beatles history. The Harrison-signed snapshot was taken during one of the ballpark shows that closed out their 1966 US tour, which included a return to Shea Stadium and their last-ever paid concert at Candlestick Park. The Starr-signed snapshot dates to the day the band received their Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) medals from Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace, amid much political controversy in the UK. Ringo rented the flat in Montagu Square during the mid-1960s, and it was where McCartney recorded the demo for 'I'm Looking Through You.' Jimi Hendrix later rented the flat. As a whole, this is a truly spectacular assemblage of rarely available original signed candids.
