In 1826, he was awarded a gold medal for lectures on the steam engine delivered before the Royal Dublin Society. To be delivered to the Members of the Liverpool Mechanics Institution by Dionysius Lardner LL.D., F.R.S. on the evenings of Wednesdays and Saturdays at 8 o'clock precisely commencing on Wednesday 22nd November 1837."
