Austrian-born Jewish psychoanalyst (1888-1969) who studied with Freud and became best known for his research into the psychiatric aspects of masochism, criminology, literature, and religion. Interesting AQS signed "Theodor Reik," written on the reverse of a cardstock "Build the Theodor Reik Clinic" sign, 9 x 6, June 6, 1954. Reik pens what influential Zionist leader Theodor Herzl wrote in his autograph book: "Was ist mein letzter wunsch auf erden? Dass aus scheuen Juden buben stozze junge Juden werden [What is my last wish on earth? That shy little Jews become proud young Jews]. Th. Herzl wrote this into my autograph album." In very good to fine condition, with overall creasing.
