Great original glossy 14 x 11 silver gelatin contact sheet print with 25 images of The Doors frontman Jim Morrison taken by Linda McCartney, featuring a sequence of close-ups poses. Stamped on the reverse by Star File and annotated with Linda McCartney's credit. In fine condition.
In Linda McCartney's Sixties: Portrait of an Era, published in 1992, the photographer recalled: 'It wasn’t Jim Morrison’s looks that struck me first about him. It was the poetry of his songs and the way he would get completely lost in the music…When I was taking pictures of Jim with The Doors I never thought I was photographing a rock idol. To me he was an unknown singer with an interesting mind who shared my love of the visual arts. In return I think he saw me as someone who could capture him as he really was, rather than a showbiz person who would add to the glamour surrounding him.'
