ALS signed “Henry M. Stanley,” one page, 4.75 x 7.25, Richmond Terrace letterhead, June 2, 1899. Handwritten letter to Harper & Brothers, in full: "I beg to acknowledge the receipt of a cheque from you for £5.1.8 on acct. of Royalties to Dec. 31st 1898." In fine condition. Harper & Brothers published several of Stanley's works in America, including Through the Dark Continent, The Congo and the Founding of Its Free State, and Slavery and the Slave Trade in Africa.
