Description

President of Egypt (born 1918) from 1970 until his assassination in 1981. For his role in the historic Camp David Peace Agreement, he shared the 1978 Nobel Peace Prize with Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin. Matte-finish 7 x 9.5 three-quarter-length portrait of President Anwar Sadat in a handsome suit and tie, inscribed in black ink to "Rev. John Sexton, Best wishes,” and signed in both English and Arabic. In very good to fine condition, with a few creases, and two paperclip impressions to the top edge. Accompanied by the original transmittal letter dated May 22, 1977, and mailing envelope.
