Description

Filmmaking pioneer (1867-1939) and founder of Universal Studios. Laemmle and his son were responsible for the fantastic string of classic Universal horror films including Phantom of the Opera, Frankenstein, Dracula, and The Mummy. TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, Universal Pictures Corporation letterhead, January 7, 1933. Letter to Maurice Fuggetta, in part: "Your card has been received in which you ask us to send you a copy of the Universal Weekly every week. We shall be glad to do this, upon receipt of $5.00, which is the price asked for a yearly subscription…The Universal Weekly is, of course, a magazine designed primarily to acquaint theatre managers with information about our pictures, but interested patrons may now receive the magazine each week for the amount above stipulated." In fine condition, with toning to the edges.
