Uncommon pair of original sketches by Doc Winner, both accomplished in graphite and ink on individual off-white 4 x 6 cards. The sketches, which relate to The Katzenjammer Kids comic strip, are as follows: one shows a boy with a brush and bucket of glue saying, “Diss iss a stick-up, Albert. Und no fooling,” and is signed below, “Best wishes from ‘Hans’ und ‘Doc’ Winner”; and the other shows another boy, sneaking with a lit match and stick of dynamite, saying, “Albert Wilkerson iss aroundt der corner, I gif him a big surprise,” which is signed below, “Greetings from ‘Fritz Katzenjammer,’ Winner.” In overall fine condition.
