Description

Older brother of Al Capone who was once named 'Public Enemy Number Three' and nicknamed 'Bottles' because he ran the Chicago bottling operation (1894-1974). Original Memphis Police Department identification card, one page both sides, 8 x 8, February 5, 1928, bearing Capone's fingerprints individually as well as prints of all fingers simultaneously, signed at the bottom in black ink, "Ralph J. Capone." Opposite side bears typed information about Capone, including name and aliases, height, weight, tattoos, and charges, as well as an affixed mug shot. In very good condition, with various edge chips and tears (one affecting the signature), and a few affixed pieces of toned tape. Accompanied by an unsigned 1950 press photo of Capone testifying before the Senate at the Kefauver Hearings, from the archives of the Chicago Tribune.
